Happy Mother's Day

In honor of Mother's Day...

10 Things I Have Learned During My 3 Years of Motherhood
****
10) Getting stuck at a train crossing can be fun - watching an 18-month-old's fascination helps you realize that the train is not an annoying delay but an amazing mechanical triumph.
****
9) You will say things that you never thought would come out of your mouth and you WILL sound like your own mother.
****
8) Nothing is better than a happy, snuggly baby that thinks you are the world and curls up on your shoulder.
****
7) Well, except a happy, exuberant toddler than drops everything and runs to you with complete abandon and joy when you enter the room.
****
6) Next to (God forbid) a terrible illness or death of a loved one bringing a child into your life is the most stressful thing you can do.
****
5) Potty training is a whole lot harder than it should be.
****
4) Seeing your child mirror your behavior can make you feel proud and it can make you feel ashamed. Do I really talk/behave that way??
****
3) You really can have enough love for more than one child and appreciate how similar or how different they are.
****
2) Seeing the love, wit and kindness that your child is capable of expressing can be overwhelming.
****
1) You can't control everything and nothing brings that home more than having a baby, so trust in God and have fun on the ride. Parenthood is a marathon not a sprint!
